I just got back from Tampa where I visited Tompson Cigars. The stores prices are the same as their catalog/web site (pricey). The store reminds me of a warehouse instead of Cigar Store (inside of a pole building). The cigars are well mechantdised and stacked neatly. I found the sampler I was looking for and was ready to fire up a Trindad when informed I couldn't smoke in the store. When I asked why I was informed that the cigar smoke bothered the office girls!!! I was expecting an answer of state/local laws forbide smoking in enclosed buildings not a whimpy answer like I got.
I should have known better but in my case curiosity killed the cat
Oh one last thing they don't sell indivdiual cigars so I bought the sampler. By the way I paid cash and didn't give any personial information to them.
Good going DRB1!!! I guess the only thing you could have done to improve on that visit would have been not to buy anything at all. lol
ReplyDeletewow thats the dumbest thing I have ever heard
ReplyDeleteThat has to hurt customer service. I believe the proverb is "The customer is always right."
ReplyDeleteThat's one of those thing that make ya go ... hmmmmm.
ReplyDeleteThe "girls" must have been blonde. "Gee, we hate cigar smoke, so let's get a job @ Thompsons. I doubt that they were relatives of the management, or they woulda been used to the aroma. The next hmmmm.is why did management hire em in the first place? Ergo: they're Blonde & Stacked! Now it makes sense.
Enjoy the cigars DRB1
I know I should have walked out with out buying but I bumped my head and bought a Sampler of their house brands that included the LaPaloma you advised tacHammer  . The suggested cigar was not a bad smoke. Look at the reviews for how the cigars from the sampler smoked. The Ladies I saw were nice looking but not nice enough to stop the customer from smoking. This is the last purchase I make from Thompson due to the fact their cigars are over priced and the shipping is way to high.
