Thompson's Tusker

This cigar contains: Dominican Pilto Orlor, Brizillian Orlor, and Nicaraguan Jalapa valley long fillers. A spicey Sumatra binder and topped off with a Connecticut/Ecuador wrapper.

I hate to admit it but this cigar was a fine full bodied smoke. The draw was smooth, the white ash held for 3" before falling off, and the flavor was full spice with no harshness from beginning to end (simular to Trindads). The one set back was the wrapper started unwrapping the last 3" of the cigar. The price is the down side of the Tusker ($2.25/stick for a box of 25 + $7.00 shipping). Other on-line Cigar Stores sell Alturnittives to Trindads for less IE: JR sells their Alt. Cigars for roughly $1.25/stick for a box of 20 + $2.25 for shipping.

All you full bodied full spice cigar smokers will enjoy this cigar.

WARNING Beginners and Girley Men: after three puffs you will cruel up in the featal position and begin sucking your thumbs.

  1. I smoked one out of a sampler and was not as enthralled as you. I like full bodied smokes but this one did little for me. I had a problem with the wrapper and found the draw to be too easy. Taste was OK but nothing special. I won't be buying anymore.

    Thanks for the reply.

Thompson's isn't my first choice for cigars due to numious reasones. inconsistentcy between smokes, wrapper defects, plus price is why I don't shop Thompson's. I did the review based on two cigars and both were worthy of the rating I gave them. It goes to show you what inconsistent batching will do to cigars.
