First off, I am alive! College has been eating up a huge ammount of time, so I have been silent in the chat's for a few months.
On to the subject of why I am saddened. When I took up cigar smoking, I went to a reputable local tobaccanist by the name of Jernigan's. Now before I left for college, they had a decent selection of cigars, not the greatest, but not the worst I had seen. They always had someone willing to help you and to look after the cigars. Well I returned to my home after 2 months at college and I could think of no better way to celebrate being home than grab a stogie from Jernigan's. When I arrived, I learned they were expanding into a cigar/scotch bar, and I thought props to them. The serivice was great as always, so I thought it was buisness as ussual. My horror occured when I entered their walk in humidor.
They obviously werent taking care cigars on an entire wall. I picked up a CAO Eileen's Dream on a recomendation of a friend who is into flavored cigars, and I promptly inspected it. To my amazement, mold. I thought it was just one and I was going to hold on to it, but then I noticed several more in the same box with mold. I looked at some Ashton's along the same wall. More mold. A. Fuente's: mold. Every few boxes along that wall exclusively there was mold. I wasn't the only one to notice, and a gentlemen mentioned it to the employees before I had the opportunity. To me, I was always in love with the place, and I continue to be, I just hope they clean up their act and kick themselves into taking care of the business again.
Has anyone else had this experience?

Jos? Mart? Cuba Libre (Churchill, Crystal Tube)
Handmade NIC
Wrapper: EQU-SUM Binder: HON Filler: NIC/HON/DR
Strength: Medium
Alright - I figured I'd post the review for what will probably become (once I get a larger humidor) my "flagship" cigar. I actually first came across these cigars in a local "adult" shop (yes, you read that right) - they had a small humidor and these nicely-presented tubos caught my eye. They're packaged in twos, and are reasonably priced at about $8 for the pair.
The first one of these I smoked was a bit dry - sadly, sex shop employees are rarely seasoned tobacconists. It was *still* good - had a full yet mellow flavor. It had picked up the aroma of the cedar it was wrapped in very well, and this lent an extra kick to the cigar's already pleasant spice. It starts simple and uncomplicated, and builds to a steadily more complex blend of woods and leather. After leaving one in my humidor for a few weeks, it was even better. [i:beabf11cf7]Definitely[/i:beabf11cf7] recommended!

Tabacalera Perdomo ESV 1991 (Shade, Prestigio)
Handmade NIC
Wrapper: CONN Binder: NIC Filler: NIC
Strength: Medium-Full
This time around I decided to review a bit more potent stogie (for those of us who like a bit of spice in our cigars). I got it for $8.50, which is a pretty average price for this particular stick. This is the first of the Estate Selecci?n Vintage cigars I've smoked, and I was really pleased. It's a nice full-bodied cigar with a wood-smoke flavor and a bit of a cocoa aftertaste. Smokes with a clean, white, symmetrical ash. The wrapper imparts a nice smoothness for such a strong cigar.
