I've been reading scuttlebutt around the net that the new ESG robustos (5 1/2 x52) are already making an appearance at Holt's and other selected retailers, to the tune of about $16 a pop.
Can anyone confirm this?
Thanks

Must be available. I spoke with a customer of the local cigar shop while in Hot Springs last week and he has tried one already. Going by his review they are no better than a VSG and definitely not worth the price.
ReplyDeleteI've never tried the robustos, but ESGs are great cigars. The 52 ring gauge would turn me off to them, but if it weren't for that I'd pick them up. If you like the VSG you'll definitely like the ESG. They have the spiciness you get from a VSG, with a bit of sweetness to them. To me they are about one stage more complex than a VSG.
ReplyDeleteI have two sitting in my Humi, meditating. I'm afraid to burn one, might like it.
ReplyDeleteThat's no problem, I'll give you my address...
ReplyDeleteLOL.....Thanx, What a great guy. Get those nasty old ESG's outa my way so I can make room for my Gen-u-whine Cuban Counterfeits
ReplyDeleteI can confirm these are available on the east coast. Had one from Gettysburg Cigar Co. which I picked up during my visit with diger. Had another from a Washington, D.C. metro area tobacconist in Tysons Corner, VA.
ReplyDeleteUnlike the 20 Year Salute (6.75 x 49) which was released before it was ready, the 21 Year Salute (5.25 x 52) is an excellent cigar. I just can't make it past the price tag. When I can get a VSG for $8, the ESG is not worth twice that.
