Like fine wine, cigars get better with age. While some people will just toss their smokes in a humidor for a few days, others like to keep them in there for years. This brings out all the complex flavors contained within the cigar. But is the aging process affected by the size of the cigar?
The short answer is yes. The thicker the cigar, the more leaves
are used to create it. Each of these leaves brings its own flavor, and over time these will mellow and mix with one another. If you have a thinner cigar you will not have as many leaves, and the aging process won't be as "complex".
It is like soup. If you open a can of chicken broth and serve it,
it is going to taste ok, but not special. If you add some
vegetables, spices, noodles, etc then you have yourself a really
hearty wonderful soup that people will surely remember.
