The Gran Cru is a more refined version of the Punch line. The dark brown wrapper is oily and silky. Construction is excellent and consistent; firm with no soft spots. The burn was sharp with a firm salt & pepper ash. I hadn't tried these cigars for a long time as the regular Punch Rothschild Maduro is a favorite. However I was very impressed with how smooth this cigar was. The flavor was rich and complex but mellow at the same time. One of the smoothest Honduran smokes I have had the pleasure to enjoy and a cigar that will please the real aficionado or blow away the beginner.
