medium body/medium strength

Every once in a while I get surprised by an unheralded, unbanded cigar. A Famous Smoke shope exclusive made by Nestor Plesencia, these cigars were featured recently on "Cigarmonster" for $21.95 a box of 40. A buddy(Tachammer) purchased a box of each of the Naturales and Maduritos and was kind enough to send me a few of each to try. I wasn't expecting much, maybe a yardgar or something for a quick smoke while traveling that was slightly tolerable and better than a gas station smoke. Well, I was surprised enough to kick my self more than once for missing the sale. The naturals start off with a nice bit of spice and smooth out to a robust little cigar thats medium bodied with enough flavor and complexity to make you think you are smoking a more expensive brand. I have since put my money where my mouth is and have chased down a box of each at auction. Presented in cedar boxes of 40 even at the list price these are a deal. The maduros are every bit as good as the nats. Starting off with a blast of cocoa dust flavor on the light up they smooth out to a mellow rich vitola that is excellent for an after dinner smoke when you may not have time for a full sized cigar.
I have tried a lot of small cigars and normally they are lacking in flavor and complexity even when they have a big name band. These taste as if they were blended specificaly for a Petit corona size rather than a big cigar blend that has been paired down to a smaller size. Construction was very good with a nice cap, well filled and no soft spots. They probably won't make it to the top of anyones list but they are definitely worth a try and I plan on keeping some of each in my humidor.
